Salvatore Sciascia

Current positions

Salvatore Sciascia is Full Professor of Business Administration at LIUC University since 2018.

In this University he is the Rector’s Delegate for Research (since 2019) and co-directs the FAmily BUsiness Lab (since 2020).

He is also a contract Professor at the Lucerne University of applied science since 2019.

Since 2021, he is also Affiliated Professor at Centre for Family Entrepreneurship and Ownership (CeFEO); Jönköping International Business School, Sweden.

Career development

In 2000 he started to teach at LIUC University as Contract Professor. He got his Ph.D. at that University in 2004 and his thesis was awarded for publication.

He has been working as Advisor in strategic management and family business since 2004.

He visited the Jonkoping International Business School (Sweden) and University of Lugano (Switzerland) during his doctoral studies and after graduation to enrich his research expertise.

In 2005 he started to teach at IULM University as Contract Professor; then, he was an Assistant Professor at from 2008 to 2015 and an Associate Professor from 2015 to 2018. He received teaching, research and evaluation appointments in other Italian and European Universities (e.g. Bocconi, Cattolica-Milan, Valle d'Aosta, Pisa, Catania, Verona, Grenoble, Jonkoping, Vilnius, Lancaster).

Editorial activities

He is Co-Editor of Journal of Management & Governance (since 2023) and a member of the Editorial Review Board of other 4 journals: Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice (since 2018), Family Business Review (since 2010), Journal of Family Business Strategy (since 2017), and Piccola Impresa/Small Business (since 2018). He also was in the editorial review board of Journal of Small Business Management (2015-2021) and Journal of Management & Governance (2016-2022).
