Biography and Expertise

Valentina Lazzarotti, PhD in Management Engineering, is Full Professor of Planning and Control at LIUC – Università Cattaneo.

Starting from November 2025, she will also serve as Director of the School of Economics at LIUC.

In the past, she has held several key academic leadership roles at the same university, including Director of the PhD Program in “Finance, Management, and Accounting”, Rector’s Delegate for Strategic Planning, and Rector’s Delegate for Faculty Development.

She is also Co-Director, together with Professor Sciascia, of FABULA – Family Business LAB, LIUC’s institutional research center on family business, where she coordinates and leads a team of researchers working on related topics.

Her current research interest lies at the intersection of multiple disciplines, focusing on performance measurement systems (including ESG-related topics), dynamic capabilities, innovation, and technological collaborations, with a particular emphasis on family firms.

Professor Lazzarotti has published extensively in leading international journals such as R&D Management, Long Range Planning, Journal of Family Business Strategy, Creativity and Innovation Management, Journal of Cleaner Production, Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, and several others.
