Biography and Expertise

Aurelio Ravarini is Full Professor at LIUC – Università Cattaneo, where he works in the fields of organizational studies, information systems, and digital transformation. He also serves as the Head of the research center Digital Transition Hub and is the academic coordinator of the Master’s program in Design and Management of Digital Transformation.

He has held international academic appointments and collaborations with institutions including Grenoble École de Management, Université Paris Nanterre, Cornell University, Aarhus University, and the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

He served for ten years as Associate Editor of the European Journal of Information Systems and was Conference Chair of ItAIS 2025.

His research focuses on the relationship between people, organizations, and digital technologies, with particular attention to emerging digital technologies adoption and management through a socio-technical lens. His recent work explores the effect of the presence of Generative AI in decision making processes, education and organizational work, with a particular focus on trust, anthropomorphism, and cognitive delegation to artificial systems.
