The new online services offered by libraries are being developed in a competitive market. It is therefore important that they apply a marketing approach, analysing the products that they are making available, their quality, their specific features and their cost. The demand for personalised services is growing; and the article offers some examples, starting off with proposals by Cattaneo University and some Anglo-Saxon universities.
