Abstract
The diffusion of forms of health care alternatives to hospital admission is at the center of a heated debate that, in recent years, has encouraged actors and experts in the Italian health system to reflect on the development of home care. The workshop organised by, "Medicasa Italia" in October, 2011, provided an excellent opportunity to discuss the subject of home care in Triveneto. Starting with a overview of the country's health reality, this article aims to provide a summary of the principal contributions made at the workshop to point out the opportunities, problems and future prospects of home care.
