Abstract
In recent years, the role of procurement activities and decisions raised in terms of impact on the companies’ economic performances. The Procurement department developed different solutions in order to manage the complexity of the supplier market. ICTs and, in particular, supplier portals represent a new way to share information with the suppliers. The aim of the paper is to analyse the impact of the supplier portal on purchasing performances, in terms of process effectiveness, process efficiency and process integration. Analysing seven cases of supplier portal adoption, the research points out the benefits of the portal in relation with the purchasing process activities.
