Abstract
The discipline of Project Management, in recent years, has evolved: more projects managed in a "changing world". Professional associations and managerial literature have contributed to this evolution with frameworks and studies, however, the majority of them are related to the management of large projects in structured environments. In light of all this, the research questions to which the following paper attempts to answer may be summarized as follows: Are the professional frameworks, methodologies and Project Management standards that have developed over the years suitable and recognized also for environments less structured, and are they able to provide value to all Stakeholders? Through the analysis of the literature, the proposed frameworks, and some business cases the skills necessary for project managers to "manage" projects were analyzed, also taking into consideration the perceptions of the various project Stakeholders. In the final phase, ideas were offered not only for further research but also for some possible "operational actions" that might be useful for improving Project Management in less structured environments.
