Abstract
The thesis work aims to clarify the conceptual relationship between sustainability and resilience in supply chain management and to identify possible supply chain solutions to improve both, providing insights on how this can be made. Firstly, a literature review highlights the presence of four different viewpoints to interpret the relationship sustainability-resilience and the criterion that leads to adopting one perspective over another. Secondly, two empirical investigations adopting multiple case studies and interpretive structuring modelling are developed to analyse the combination of sustainability and resilience in Sharing Economy and Circular Economy solutions applied to the supply chain. The results show that both these solutions can bring benefits in terms of resilience and sustainability and provide insights to explain how this can happen.
