Abstract
It often occurs that management and leadership are considered as synonymous, they are confused with one another. They identify two different concepts instead. Management can be traditionally defined as working with and through people to reach organisational objectives, inside any kind of organisation, while leadership has a wider meaning and refers to people trying to conduct or influence others’ behaviours. Management can be considered as a specific type of leadership, strictly related to achieving company’s targets. This article aims at providing an innovative definition of both concepts, reflecting on their complementary elements. It will generate important synergies, with relevant effects on the company’s culture.
